I Can't Wait

I can not wait until next week. I am going to be off from my full-time job for an entire week. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever taken a full week off from work and got paid for it. I usually use my vacation time in bits and pieces. I am good for taking a half day of vacation every now and then. My time will be spent at home with the kids. I am curious to see how it goes. I am sure around the middle of the week they will start going at each other big time. That is what kids usually do. My mother will be off of work also so I am sure we will find time to go over and bug I mean visit her. I am looking forward to a week of staying in the bed late and watching judge shows. I really need this time off. I am simply tired. I think I will start back making sure to take my vitamins.

Thoughts

McDonalds is my favorite place to go. You never know what you will see. Now I don’t have anything against gay men but damn how far is too far. I seen a brother today he was all the way out there. The brother had on some red suede slip on shoes, a red blouse some tight jeans with sequence on the back, patent leather alligator style jacked with a purse to match.

I can tell it is winter time. If I lived in the building where I work my night job out and was only allowed to come out when there wasn’t anyone there and could not look out the windows I would still know when the first real cold spell hit. You ask how I know this. It is simple there is a coffee stain every couple of feet. I have never seen people waste coffee as much as these people do. It is on the floor on the doors, on the walls especially by the elevator buttons, on the bathroom counter and most of all on the side of the desk. I don’t know why people like to play basketball with their trash can and half a cup of coffee.

There is something wrong with the heat in my office. It was cold as hell this morning when I came in. I looked at the thermostat and it read 60. I figured there wasn’t a need to take my hat off until it warmed up a bit. So I walked around half the morning wearing a skull cap in protest of my icebox of an office.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. My fiancé has to work the graveyard shift this month. This is the pits because it means I have to get the kids up and ready for school every morning. It is not fun getting a 7 year old and a 4 year old up at six in the morning. It usually takes a couple of trips to the bed and a yanking off of the covers to get my daughter up. My son is a different story. Getting him up means picking him up out of the bed dressing him fully and then waking him up to brush his teeth and wash his face. He has the nerves to complain about what he has to wear to school on some mornings. I went back to the old days of ironing everything up on Sunday night while watching television. So everyone has all of their clothes for the week hanging up in the closet ready to put on.

Bias Reporting

Gunman storms stage, kills 4 at Ohio club
A gunman stormed the stage during a heavy metal rock concert in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday night, firing at the band and audience and killing four people before a police officer shot and killed him, police said. One of the dead was guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. The gunman also wounded two people.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We all know that if this would have happened at a hip hop concert the headline would be different. It would probably read as follows.

Gunfire breaks out at rap concert, Rapper “Dimebag” and three other killed
Violence broke out at a rap concert in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday night, firing at the group and audience and killing four people before authorities were able to restore order to the hostile environment. Rapper “Dimebag was killed while performing on the stage. Two other people were also shot during the altercation between the gunman and the group. This follows a rash of violence in the hip hop community.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the end of the story you know they would have to bring up Tupac, Biggie, and Jam Master Jay. Could you imagine the editorial pieces on television and in newspapers if this had been at a rap concert? Why is it that when something like this happens in any other music community it is a tragedy? When it happens in the hip hop community it is part of the culture and a product of the violence that they encourage . I do not agree with some of the things that hip hop artist do and personify but I must say that they get a raw deal in media coverage. When the news shows interviews from the scene they will likely show young white women breaking down and telling of how terrifying the ordeal was for them. If this was a rap concert they would find the most ignorant brother in the crowd and give him the spotlight. The media has too much power in most people’s perception of others and their manipulation of it for headlines and ratings is sick and sad.
